Pelorus Bridge stood in as Forest River in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

A DOC scenic reserve on State Highway 6 where the Pelorus River runs through river-flat forest. Free parking, bridge viewpoint, and a path down to the bank where the barrels washed ashore.
